Change in Tamil New Year from April 14 to Jan 15

Friday, February 01, 2008 Change in Tamil New Year from April 14 to Jan 15 I vehemently protest this Bill by Dr. Kalaingar Mu.Karunanidhi. Stupid thing, Foolish Policy. This "Chithirai Vishu" is celebrated all across India: Kerala : "Vishu" Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh as "Ugadi" Maharashtra it is known as "Gudipadava Baisakhi (Punjab), Poila Baishakh (Bengal), Bohaag Bihu (Assam) Singlaese as Buddhika http://buddika.wordpress.com/ [at least Singalese & Tamils are UNITED in this, Karuna wants to cut this also] http://www.ambimama.com/ says thus:- The Tamil calendar is based on the Hindu solar calendar also used in Assam, Bengal, Kerala, Nepal, Manipur, Orissa and the Punjab. It in turn influenced the calendars of Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka and Thailand where the traditional New Year falls around April 14 as well. The Hindu lunar calendar is conversely used in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra where the traditional year begins on th...

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is Dead

Sunday, February 10, 2008 Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is Dead Founder of TM [Transcendental Meditation] from Jabalpur, M.P is no more from Feb 5, 2008. He died in his Norway HQs. He told his patrons "My job is over, for which I have come, I am retiring" on January 12, his 91st birthday. He could not exactly tell his day of death. In Tamilnadu, even normal mortals with true devotion to God have known to have told their heirs of their day of demise. It is a divine gift. It is also recorded in History that some simple Tamil souls have dug up their own cemetery and told everyone of their date of demise and went on the same day. So I think this Yogi may not be as gifted as other devout simple souls of India. He gave us disciples like Deepak Chopra. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deepak_Chopra www.Chopra.com is his website. .Com means commercial that says in a nutshell about his Spiritualism based on his Materialism. Anyhow, the matter is… We Indians know the feat of Vivekananda, who was t...

As an ardent Tourist, Traveller & Nomad – my heartfelt thanks to Huggies. This simple product made my life easier to Travel with my kid. Thanks to copy cat products from Wipro, Tata or what not the prices are less now. Ladies Sanitary napkin industry is also forging ahead in India. Once upon a time these J&J's products were very costly. Now so many companies, brands… It's such a useful product, that it gave real FREEDOM to women which could not be even thought of by lip service leaders like EVR Periar, Gandhi etc. Technology, Science, R & D – these are the real religions. Human mind alone can emancipate another human from suffering. Thanks Westerners for your Contribution to our daily lives. East & Spirituality alone can't be the answer to Earths mundane problems. ...

Buying Guide: 19” LCD TFT monitor

Buying Guide: 19" LCD TFT monitor For the past days I am moving around Sadar Bazaar, Big Bazaar, TDI Mall, E-Zone, Sanjay Place, Shah Market in Agra with one goal: to buy a LCD TFT monitor or TV. Lots of reading, research…26" LCD TV also came in to picture, thank god I have not mixed my PC experience with a TV. A TV has to be separate. Also a HDTV resolution / quality / clarity is less. Finally settled down to Samsung 920NW. Wide monitors have very long horizontal view 1440 x 900 resolution. Disadvantages of Wide Screen: · Wikipedia is a long horizontal line to read. · Screen is delicate. Can't tolerate some hot coffee on it. Old CRT glasses are tolerant on any edibles falling on it. · 19" wide screen is 6.8% less screen area than 19" normal. · Vast empty spaces of screen in Google results, ms word, and browsing pages designed for 800 x 600. Advantage of Wide Screen: · Less scrolling :- view of doc, pdf files, web pages benefited · The aspect ratio of A4 paper is...

Train from Delhi to Khajuraho

Wednesday, March 12, 2008 Train from Delhi to Khajuraho Thanks Railway minister Lalu Yadav for promoting Tourism. I lamented in my earlier Khajuraho Blog that there was no direct train link to India's most visited Tourist Spot. I think the Powers That Be listened. Also kudos to them for having introduced Rameshwaram to Benares train. A truly devotee point of view ministry! God will certainly help Lalu score more successes! My Dream : Why not Google Ocean?

My Dream : Why not Google Ocean? I am avid user of Google Earth, Google Mars planet etc. But I am astounded to see there is no site to see our 70% of our Earth's matter the Ocean. I am a lover of Nature, so I love seeing the Ocean waves, which is a meditation itself. You can go on watch the Mahabalipuram Sea waves, the Tuticorin Thermal Power Camp 2 beach waves, Kanya kumari beach waves. Sitting at Agra, 2000 kms away from my home town Tuticorin I yearn to watch those Ocean Currents and the treasure trove inside them, on my Desktop, with the power of the net and the processor. I hope my WISHLIST will be addressed by Google or any other innovating company to bring back the Greatness of the Ocean on Net. I used to see Microsoft Ocean CD for educating myself more on Oceans, but still it lacks the real punch of the Ocean. Also the Fish Screensavers provide a better understanding of Ocean Species. So that power of the software are yet to be brought on to the web. If only I can explore t...

Arthur C. Clarke Dies

Thursday, March 20, 2008 Arthur C. Clarke Dies I am a fan of Arthur. His Moon Oddyssey, 2001 Space Oddyssey .. and many other sci-fi novels are a Gem and precursor to Tamil Novelist Sujatha's Juno. See the coincidence… Sujatha died just a week before. But it is also obnoxious to know that Arthur C. Clarke is divorced and his reputation marred in child abuse case, that's why he is said to have been migrated to Asia, that is Srilanka where u can get away with anything by bribery. Also Sri Lanka is famous for its Toursim, Beaches, Ethinic Strife. So it is a surmise he used Sri Lanka for his sexual gratification after divorce. We cant say anything solidly now, as he is dead. But this is the price for the over indulgence in the name of Freedom the westerners are paying. We Asians, atleast Indians have been saying – educating people to control the 5 senses. Yahoo Green, Freecycle.org

Saturday, April 26, 2008 Yahoo Green, Freecycle.org I always liked Yahoo. Recently I read in Hindustan Times about the yahoo Green site. Also the http://www.freecycle.org/ site is very good idea, if people want to throw the things they dont want, it may be wanted by some one else, so post it on web and share it so a freecycle of items around the globe makes the waste usage makes the world Green! [is this a lengthy para?] I expect a lot from Yahoo not from Microsoft on web. I dont like Microsoft buying Yahoo either. Pasupathi Kumarappan. https://notionpress.com/author/83387

QUANTUM THEORY AND OLD INDIAN TANTRA SYSTEM

December 28, 2005  Today Times of India [28 Dec 05] recyled a News from Newyork Times syndication... [now a days you see syndicated news all over the places, you feel the World is 30% same in all directions, be it TV or PAPER or MAGAZINE or MOBILE SMS UPDATES or RWORLD.   Syndications blur one's point of view, whilst proving the WORLD is indeed GLOBULAR and it SPINS on MONEY]   Ok, leave the cry over syndication, [it is the TRADE UNION of Journalists].   The point I came to tell here is the STUNNING similarity between Indian thought systems and the modern science.   The Times News says, Scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST] succeeded in putting half dozen beryllium atoms in to the Quantum state of "Cat State" - meaning to put the same atom to spin at Clockwise and anticlockwise at the same time, like be dead and alive / black and white / up and down at the same time.   But here, this two diametrically opposite states of bei...

Tuticorin Thermal Power Station [TTPS] or Tuticorin Thermal Nagar Life Part -1

Saturday, January 07, 2006 Tuticorin Thermal Power Station [TTPS] or Tuticorin Thermal Nagar Life Part -1 Tuticorin Thermal Power Project [TTPP] is a famed place which brought industrial muscle to Tuticorin and which made the industries like SPIC [Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Ltd], HWP, TAC, SICGIL, DCW to flourish.   My father took a proud part in the construction of those economic power houses of Tamilnadu, as a Manager of S R Selvaraj & Bros Construction Company.   During those times, I was a child growing amidst the smoking chimneys and argon night lights of the  Tuticorin   City .   We used to visit the TTPP Quarters situated along the  Port Trust Road  the Camp I and the  Camp   II   The Camp-I is full of workers' life, a mixture of employees from Kerala Andhra & Tamilnadu. It has vibrant colours / lifestyle /memories of its own. The Tuticorin general public may not be getting Good potable water from Tamira...

Treatises on Thevaram - Thiruuvasagam

Sunday, January 08, 2006 Treatises on Thevaram - Thiruuvasagam [08 January 2006 11:35 hrs] The Renaissance of Hinduism / Saivism born out of a need to quell or overthrow the Buddhism / Jainism which became popular in the North India from Asoka / Harsha periods. The Buddhism reached its pinnacle in Art as evident in Nalanda University, the Gandhara school of Art. The Buddhism, due to its ATHEISTIC attitudes and MISSIONARY zeal resembled like a CHRISTIAN crusade on the HINDU / SAIVA religion of INDIA. Though the Buddhism conquered places mostly in the form of MOUNTAIN ARCHITECTURES from BAMIYAN Buddhas of the Afghanistan to the AJANTHA - ELLORA of Maharashtra to the MAMMALLA PURAM of the South India, It could not penetrate the heart of the INDIAN MASSES. Chiselling on the ROCKs are EASY. Chiselling anything on the minds of people FOREVER is hard. What went wrong? Why Buddhism and Jainism Failed in India? for all its COMMUNIST / MISSIONARY attitudes? 1. CASTE system 2. The TRUE depth of R...

My Belief in Occult Sciences

My Belief in Occult Sciences 17 January 2006. Occultism is scorned by rationalists, believers, protestant Christians and many people who insist on proofs to believe anything. I too was like them in my adolescence. But moving forward, age and experience brought me to notice the various splendours / strength of this still mysterious universe. Two anecdotes that happened in my life which show the power of occult science: 1. Athiri Temple, Year 2003: I went on leave from Chandigarh to Tirunelveli. Near Tili-Ambasamudram, there is a Jungle Temple called "Aththri Kovil". The temple is far inside the Jungle, that no bus or transport can reach it. You have to reach there by walk. We came to know there resides a Sant from BHEL, a Mechanical Engineer – turned Sant who had much occult powers to heal the villagers from their myriad problems. He ran a small Ashram in that Athri Kovil, where people thronged to see him resolve their mundane problems. When we visited the temple, the crowd wa...

HINDU VIBOOTHI, BIBLE VIBOOTHI, SAIVISM - WHICH IS OLDEST? AND GREAT?

05 March 2006 Dear Reader, Pls see the following: A Christian Father admits the use of VIBOOTHI - ash in Bible It is also used by Jesus. Hope, the power of Hinduism is known thus. http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1638668,001100010004.htm The Catholic Church has a liturgical calendar in addition to the normal calendar that everyone follows. Its purpose is to relive the events of Jesus' life in real time. For instance, Jesus prayed and fasted for 40 days before he undertook his ministry. So during the 40 days of Lent till the time of Easter (Sundays are excluded), people are expected to spend more time in prayer, though not everyone is expected to fast. Ash Wednesday (today, March 1) marks the beginning of the season of Lent. During the liturgical celebration today, the priest will apply ash on each one's forehead, saying, "Remember, thou art dust and unto dust thou shall return." In the Biblical times when people had to repent of their sins and had decided to men...

Thank you puremango.co.uk

Thank you puremango.co.uk 12. March. 2006. My site www.Saivaneri.org had been a target to various form filling piders/spammers/robots/hackers which fill up the form automatically like a human and spam my database with their advertisements like "Buy Cialis" "Buy Viagra" "Enlarge your organs" etc.. I was fed up. I had to manually delete these arrogant entries in the matrimonial database where users are aghast to find such records of "Brides" "Grooms". So I was constantly worried for the past 2 weeks and took enough time to delete these rogue entries from the mySql database. Help was at hand, sooner than later with a Carnegie Mellon University originated CAPTCHA script!. Thank God!. Before knowing the keyword CAPTCHA, I used the keyword "Avoid Form Validation by robots" "Avoid Form Hackers" etc. The results were not to my requirement. Many people, including me have noticed such Avoidance of Automatic form filling in the...

Sunday, March 12, 2006 Tamil in North India

Everyday the garbage collector [janitor] comes home and shouts "Koola" [means, "Kachchda" – the Garbage, he will collect and go]. Monthly Rs.30/- for this. But the word Koola reminded me an Old Tamil word Koolam of Kuppai-Koolam. So the low castes of the north still use this Tamil word. I also noticed the same with "Kondi" – for putting the latch on the gates in Punjab. So many Tamil – or Dravidian words still are in use in North. These are our old places, I love to collect them. When the Indus Valley Script is deciphered, it will throw a lot of old Tamil living here Pasupathi Kumarappan. https://notionpress.com/author/83387

IIT, IIM Reservation issue

11. April. 2006 IIT, IIM Reservation issue This is not good. This will cause Brain Drain. High Caste Intelligent people will go to foreign countries to educate, to work. No wonder Professor Chandrasekhar gave away his Nobel laureate to USA not to India. India is ruled by un educated politicians and MBC, OBC, SC/ST reservations are going too high. In Tamilnadu 70% already reserved. How it can produce good results, if merit is not the norm? What mistake the high caste people did by scoring 80% and not getting the seat? Surely, it indicates the loss of faith of upper caste people with Indian Government and India. BJP was a promise before. Now BJP also becoming a Congress to win the votes. 10% reservation for muslims, 33% reservation for women, 70% reservation for OBC/MBC/SC/ST and DMK talking about 10% reservation for minorities… where it will all lead?. God only knows. Everywhere reservation… education, job, promotion. Then what is the use of being intelligent? Being efficient? If India ...

Atheist count increases

Tuesday, April 11, 2006 Atheist count increases Few days before, I read in Times of India, about the Swamionomics column writer Anklesaria Iyer and the Father of India's White Revolution, India's Milk Man Dr. Varghese Kurien confessed, in their own columns, that they are Atheists. Is it becoming a fad? Kurien says he was compelled by his parents to worship Jesus, as their family is a devout Christians. That led him to hate God, Church and rituals. Now 85 years old this accomplished Gentleman speaks in support of dream, hard work, vision. I agree. He was fortunate to realise his dreams. But I see so many people didn't get the rewards even after hard work, good knowledge, skills. Anyhow, these people insist on human efforts which are a must for success. Kurien says, any human being can achieve; regardless of his background; [Dr. Kurien came from a middle class family], if he is ready to put in his efforts. He has a point, I must agree. But at the same time, so many super rich...
