My Belief in Occult Sciences
My Belief in Occult Sciences
17 January 2006.
Occultism is scorned by rationalists, believers, protestant Christians and many people who insist on proofs to believe anything.
I too was like them in my adolescence. But moving forward, age and experience brought me to notice the various splendours / strength of this still mysterious universe.
Two anecdotes that happened in my life which show the power of occult science:
1. Athiri Temple, Year 2003:
I went on leave from Chandigarh to Tirunelveli. Near Tili-Ambasamudram, there is a Jungle Temple called "Aththri Kovil". The temple is far inside the Jungle, that no bus or transport can reach it. You have to reach there by walk. We came to know there resides a Sant from BHEL, a Mechanical Engineer – turned Sant who had much occult powers to heal the villagers from their myriad problems. He ran a small Ashram in that Athri Kovil, where people thronged to see him resolve their mundane problems.
When we visited the temple, the crowd was around 20 to 25 people. We have to wait for hearing his love filled advice. But, after 30 mins are so of waiting with others, suddenly one assistant of the Swamiji came to the crowd, and enquired that the Swamiji wanted to see some one who came all the way from North India and who is working in a Aeroplane job.
Hopefully those two pointed queries are referred to me only, as we are visiting the Swamiji from Chandigarh, and also the fact that I am in the Air Force.
We reached to the Swamiji, who didn't even watch us while delivering his brief words of Arul…
He cautioned us not to have any friendship with a Christian fellow, who resided near to my house. [How he knows about it? – mystery?] I promptly distanced from him [which i dont regret], situations helped to be so.
He also told we missed 2 children, as part of our karma, and for that he advised us to follow some austerities.
2. Tiruchendur Lord Murugan Temple, Year 2005
After bathing in the Tsunami Hit Tiruchendur ocean, we were returning to our rooms in the Temple Devasthanam. We were there to celebrate the 1st birthday of Sanjay, my Singapore cousin Athi Narayanan's son.
I saw two valluvak kuraththi's approaching us in the Temple prakaram area. These kurathi's [Scheduled Tribes] are part and parcel of Lord Murukan's family, as the second wife of Lord Murukan is VALLI. The relationship between the Tamil name VALLI and VALLUVAN community name should also be noted here.
By Tamil tradition, Valluvan Caste [a SC caste in Tamilnadu] people have more occult, ESP, USP powers. They have a small stick and some white "sozhi"s [corals] to throw in and according to the result of the "sozhi" the mind calculations are done and she tells about our past / future.
They also have some palm leave drawing "suvadi"s which is also used to predict some results.
So out of simple curiosity, I with my wife, sat before these Valluvachi's and settled them for a sum of Rs.50/- for one sitting.
The Valluvachi prayed the Lord Muruga, and started telling the various things which I had undergone in my past life.
All were TRUE. She is to the Point.
She also told about my Father, Periamma whose dead soul which comes around our house, which also expects that, we should love her.
The remembrance of that poor soul, which departed at a tender age, is traditionally done by my grand father, at every Pongal. He used to purchase a new sari, immerse it in water, apply vermilion [manjal] and put it before the deities and pray for her before handing over the sari to any poor woman.
That tradition my father did not continue. So the Kurathi reminded us to continue that austerity, which will certainly soothe the departed soul.
So how come this Valli Kurathi accurately tell about our Family matters?
That is occultism, the Indian way.
She told me to pick one suvadi from her collection of suvadi's with a iron nail. I picked it. The first pic I got was an Aeroplane drawn in the palm leave. She told this indicates that you are working in the aero industry. Yes. That means these palm leaves are 20th century evolution of their occult trade. Old palm leaves of these valli kurathis could not have aero planes in them; anyhow, this was another great pin point prediction.
So like these issues no DK man can argue, he has to close his eyes and ears and believe in his own Nastikam – Atheistic world.
I don't want to change Atheists. Let them suffer their own crosses.
But this is how I still remain a Believer in Hinduism.
Pasupathi Kumarappan.
