Kalachuvadu, JJ Sila Kurippukkal, Sundara Ramasamy & pasuG
dear kannan sir,
firstly, i convey my deep condolences and remembrances on the demise of our
milestone writer/publisher/ philanthropist in tamil litt., the Su.Ra.
he left a great tradition in the name of kalachuvadu.
which i first picked it when i was 18 in tirunelveli "arasup porut katchi" abt 1991.
the thing which attracted me first was the broad size, the strangeness in cover story, in literary articles,
[even the things which i could not find in hindu litt. review] and a clean litho works...
i had an inkling., that this mag will be a success!
my elder sister [professor] pointed at it, that this publication is from that author, Su.Ra
she had already introduced me to JJ sila kurippukkal when i was just 15 in palani
as i was young then, so she asked whether i understood it or not?
i said yes, i liked it, the JJ, his liking for basket ball...
his malayalam writers connections...
his constantly failing health... [ this made me to imagine JJ as Su.Ra]
she asked me, did you understand its first line?
about JJ's birth on some French man's [soldier?] death...
i explained her, "see this is how i understood it"
i think my sister was happy to see that i eagerly read it, and for my tender age i understood it also, since the first
line itself shows the new approach of Su.Ra in tamil writing...
later on, whenever we got chance, we bought and read kalachuvadu
i became its santhatharar in 1996
the mainstay of kalachuvadu is its boldness to introduce strange new spheres of art in this big earth
i hope and wish that you will continue your father's efforts
the rest of this email is,
the attached doc file is a humble writing attempt of me, in TSCII font
i hope it may be of use??
