VK Puram Baby Akka breathed her last at Tirunelveli near her First Daughter Viji

Being mother of 3, widowed at age 38, takes its toll on anyone's health.

3 years contract labourers, mostly ladies now.
Computerisation, Mechanisation, Robotics made Fabrics Industry loose 1000s of
full time employees.....who organise & hold dharna, strikes, Union issues
....etc....which makes Management loose its cool & always tension at the Factory
Gates.
Enter the Perestroika, Glosnast, Fall of Soviet Union, Fall of USSR, Fall of
Lenin statues, Fall of Communism.
Even Red Red China has hire & fire Capitalist Labour Laws.
Pay more, get more job done, sell all things on easy loans, EMIs, make workers
as bonded labourers through soft loans....to pay EMI all will work from day to
night.
Capitalism is Good, with PF, Pension, Group Insurance, Gratuity, Commutation,
Pay Commissions, Arrears..... all welfare measures to make more motivated work
force.
MNCs of USA now show a new path in Employee Satisfaction.
ESOPs....Employee Stock Options.
Employees hold shares of same Company & feel they are also part of Management.

Capitalism should merge with Communism.
Anyhow, VKP Baby Akka saw all tough times on her own, may be with support from
Melakaram Shanmuga Sundaram Pillai, her father, a retired teacher & land lord
who sold his Rice Paddy Fields, Maan Thoppu, Thennandh Thoppu, Puliyandh Thoppu
etc., for a pittance since after 1947 it was difficult to maintain work force
employees having seen end of Varnasrama & labourers started studying, working
....not obeying their old masters.....
Even during British Times the plight of Land Owners, Jameendhars, Pattadhars
started steadily loosing gains since modern equipments, industrialisation, new
land law etc affected the Rich Landlords who were slowly transformed from VAOs
Karnams Diwans Bahadurs to Teachers, Lawyers, Govt Employees.
Melakaram Surandai Landlord Shanmugasundaram Pillai was white, fair like a
Brahmana, like a Kerala Namboodhiri and his family history is tied to Travancore
samasthanam via the Shenkottah Tenkasi border.....
VK Puram Saravanan told me how he took his Mother & Wife to Surandai, Melakaram
etc....where they saw their old lands....Thoppus....now changed many hands....
Baby Akka entered VK Puram as wife of Stenographer + Typist Namasivayam Pillai
son of Madura Coats HR  Officer Ramasubramaniam Pillai ....on River

Very Good Tasty Tirunelveli Alwa is made from same water.

Anyhow, by 9.30 pm we started towards VK Puram.
All Toll Gates Free.
Thank God.

May be rs.900.
Rain Rain all along the way, broken roads NIL roads pot holes all along Sankar
Cements Thazhaiyuthu to VK Puram.
Seranmahadevi bridge overflowing with Tambrabarani water.
Mukkoodal, Suthamalli, Paettai, Ambasamudram all are non drivable useless broken
roads.
Snakes at most houses.
I saw one Karum Saarai Paambu on 9.12.2015.....6 am....near door...
Called Saravanan to kill it.
He did.
With 2 sticks.
Bad Omen?
Only time will tell.
Smell of snakes at all houses, streets.
All Vaaikkaals filled with water, flowing flood, sound & shining glistening skin
of water.....
Most of the house walls had grown Green Algae.

This Green Alage also gives Naippu Smell ...at all streets of VK Puram.

Still local people & tourists go farther away from banned padithurais and seek
safe places in River to bath.
Bathing goes non stop at Tambrabarani.
24x7 you can see someone bathing.

We took bath at the River many times during the course of my stay for 5 days at
VK Puram.
Baby Akka was cremated at Saiva Vellalar Idukaadu near the River, just burn &
throw the Ash on River.
Just like Kashi.
Most of the Idukaadus flooded with Rain.
Simple Technology.
Coconut dry shells on burnt clay bricks.
Put the body over coconut shells.
Cover the dead body with vaikkol.
Dry grass.
Cement the Vaikkol with Red Sand clay.
Now it becomes a Pressure Cooker.
Small few vents are made on the wet clay cement over the vaikkol.
For gases removal.
Next day only Ashes remain.
Baby Akka completely burnt.
Nothing big bone or flesh remained.
Good Vettiyaan it seems.
Job well done.
Sivagami Akka, Panneer, Vaithi Mama came to Idukaadu just near to
Marudhupaandiyar  Agamudaiyar Marriage Hall, on Main Road to Papanasam Temple,
ducked inside the winding River & Forest Hills.
Naal.
Kizhamai.
Kadaiyathu.
Vishesham.

All these are just psychological rituals /cope up methods to wind up the dead
soul & pave way for living people to slowly join back the mainstream life.
16 days of mourning.
Those days people had free time.
Leave.
But now we dont have enough leave.
Electrical Crematoriums must for all towns, cities, villages.
Finish the job fast, get ashes, put in River, come back, join duties.
Why to brood over much?
Over thinking, Over Rituals in Hindu way of life.
Many Brahmanars depend on this.
Savundi Brahmanars & Vannars Washermen live/depend on these free gifts.
One by one Relatives are vanishing.
New Relatives too are born.
Kalyanam.
Seemandham.
Kaadhu kuthu.
Mottai.
Life goes on.
Just like Tambrabarani.

Addendum to Obituary VKP Baby Akka. we need FAST 3G mobile internet at
all indian villages.
No BSNL 3G service at Papanasam, VK Puram, Ambalavanapuram....
Airtel gave 3G plan but very slow speed at VKP. It shows E symbol of GPRS class
10. Not H symbol which is fast 3G service.
All over india we must get 3G fast internet. Companies must not kill competitors
with bribed BSNL officials so that only Private Internet works & Government BSNL
internet fails - this scenario is bad.ugly.worse.
Since most works are done on internet now, we must see Digital India by NaMoji
through BSNL only.
VK Puram Baby Akka saw my house after Amma Thithi she came with us.
She was happy to see our house.
She wanted to stay long at our house.
Stayed at a Lodge opposite Amali School to avoid crowd at VKP Baby Home.
Vegetables are more bulgy, fresh, green at VKP cost is more.
Went to RmKV Vannarpettai through the same broken, potholed, much damaged, NIL
roads but lot of up and downs roads through 3 different routes namely Paettai -
Seranmahadevi - Suthamalli - or Paettai - Mukkoodal - Idaikaal - Ambasamudram -
Agathiyarpatti - Sivanthipuram route also - all are WORST roads - no roads.
DMK / ADMK must provide best / better roads to PAPANASAM - worlds best natural
healing place.
