Amma Amma En Aaruyire..... 2014

Amma passed away on 16.10.2014 at 11.45 am at Panagudi.

Got missed call from Panjan at 12.16 pm
Got missed call from Gopal Aasari at 12.18 pm
Saw the missed calls at 12.35 pm only.
Returned from Mess.
Phone inside my office drawer.
Never likes to dote the mobile phone all around my moving places.
Called back Panjan. He said, "Chandra Athai - your mother has died".
i replied "Coming immediately".
Suddenly i concluded Amma died of cardiac arrest, and i believed my thought.
Immediately took leave [Gandhi sir]
Reached DAV BHEL School, were P.Soorya Velaa studies.
Prinicipal permitted to take the daughter to home.
Reached home at 1 pm.
Laksha was shocked. We got packing things.
Called Sivagami Akka - huge cry. Told her to hold back. Be brave. Dont worry.
Called VK Puram saravanan. Informed. He was in disbelief.
Again after some time he called back, verified.
Avoodai phoned me at 1.30 pm.
I said, I will be on roads in 30 minutes.
At 2 pm my Chevy Beat took me on 6 lane roads to Kanyakumari.
From Salem to Panagudi it was heavy rain.
Huge sheet of Rain, wall of Rain blocked our progress towards Panagudi.
Slowly, slowly, braving the rain we marched ahead, come what may to see my Amma,
to wish her in her final journey.
At 1.45 am we reached Panagudi. [17.10.2014]
Till 5.30 am the Rain was pounding the Tirunelveli District.
Nallavanga Setha Mazhai Varum.
Amma was sleeping inside the A/C glass container.
Eye Donation was done, just like her Mother Saraswathy aachi & aaloor Periyamma Subbulakshmi.
Mother looked so comfortable, sleeping pose.
No one would believe that she is no more.

Heart Failure.
Mitral Valve bulged.
Little Sugar. Not much BP issues. Always stomach problems.
Super Good Chef.
As a mother never gave up in Kitchen department.
Fond of dressing, beauty. Fond of beauty in everything.
Spic and Span lifestyle.
Neat and Clean environs, house keeping.
Always thinking Progressively, what to do next is her big question, ready to work on that.
Temple Tours, Thevaram, Aanmeeham is her forte.
Building relationships, nurturing new friends, working on old alliances - full marks for her.
Never used foul language or bad demeanour on children or husband or relatives.
Diplomatic.
All she wanted from me is new Hand bags, new Sarees, new Chappals.
Lifestyle is most important for her.
Comfort, Luxury she always sought after, having gone through rough times from her 9th standard onwards.
Comfort and Luxury did not court her well, but she managed to grab it, with pomp and ease.
Charming entreaties.
Nothing could stop her in learning new things even though she had little schooling.
Preferred none, tried to stay neutral, tried to be unbiased.
That had cost her life.
Honestly all the three children left her in the hands of God, in her last moments.
When Amma was so ill and hospitalised for long time in Palani, Coimbatore,
the Doctor diagnosed heart valve on right side Mitral valve is bulged a little,
that time onwards she started counting her bonus time.
Akka sent her to Panagudi - since Akka do not have the man power nor money power at Palani
to manage Amma.
When Amma finally arrived to her husbands ancestral home at Panagudi, she was so gleeful that
Chithappa helped her, even though they had lot of differences between them.
1999 July 10 Dad passed away.
2014 Oct 16 Mom has seen the last day.
15 years plus 3 months.
All these 15 years she must have enjoyed a real free bird life.
Everybody has to die. Who ever is born are destined to die.
In fact we are all born to die at some time.
What you do in this Interregnum : that matters.
She satisfied all : safe to say.
She satisfied her in laws, her children, her mother side too.
Amma went to meet Pasupathi aachi on 10.10.2014 at Kala akka house, Kottar, Nagercoil.
4 months before Aaloor / Thisayanvilai Subbu Lakshmi passed away at her age of 76.
Kala akka said, Amma prayed / requested before the photo of her elder sister,
she wanted to die peacefully, like her elder sister, she wanted to quit in peaceful fashion.
That demand is met.
Morning walk, purchase of vegetables, handed over the veggies to Lakshmi chithi,
then went to the Bed Room, collapsed, quit.
Dramatic, Cinematic Exit.
No one ever imagined this.
Even my mother.
She had prepared for Diwali extensively.
She purchased a Red Saree.
She ordered a matching Blouse to be stitched.
She had brought a good saree for Maha Lakshmi chithi also, who is elder than her, who never goes out.
Amma planned Adhirasam also for Diwali, the batter - maavu - was ready but she never made it.
I had called Amma on Monday and Tuesday.
I had a normal simple talk with Amma on those 2 days.
Monday the call was cut 4 times. Lakshmi Chithi raised TV volume more.
Tuesday the talk was about Nov 9 marriage of Saravanan at Tuticorin.
Amma said, she will come back from Tuticorin only on 10 Nov 2014 Monday
 - after the maru veedu Sodhi sapadu.
I had planned to come on sunday itself and on Monday i can sign the Life Certificate
at IOB Panagudi and return back to Ranipet
I had asked a last question "Veru edhum Vishesham Irukkamma"?
She said NIL.
Then she became the Vishesham.
On 28 Oct 2014 Mother had planned to visit Madurai to be present at Sivagami Akkas
Convocation ceremony for her Phd - Doctorate.
First Doctorate in Commerce in our family.
Amma promised a new Saree as a GIFT for my elder sisters Phd Doctorate.

She could not see that day.
Dutiful brother Avoodai Nayagam fulfilled all Mothers Last Wishes.
Avoodai said to Akka, when she was at RmKV
- "Akka you take a saree of your wish for your Doctorate - i will pay it"
Simple magnetic words that shows true affection, bond, love.
"Akka i will call you every Friday evening - just as i called Mother."
Another kind entreaties just like his mother.
Amma will be remembered in the neat, clean rooms of Tuticorin Natarajan illam
Amma will be remembered in the neat, clean rooms of Panagudi AVM illam.
Amma left an unfillable void in our lives.
Like every Amma does in their household.
